There are various Differences between B.Ed. and D.El.Ed course. B. Ed is a bachelors’ Degree in Education whereas D. El. Ed is a diploma in Education. Both are teacher training courses but with the entirely different syllabus.
- Ed course and career opportunities–A student who has completed graduation are qualified to pursue a bachelors’ course in education. A candidate with good percentage can work in international schools or other educational institutes. Those who have completed the B.Ed course can make a career in both the private and public sectors.
D.El.Ed course and career opportunities– A student who has completed graduation is qualified to pursue a Diploma course in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.). Students who have completed their D.El.Ed. the course can make a career in both the private and public sectors. Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) is similar to D.Ed. (Diploma in Education), JBT, D.T.Ed. (Diploma in Teachers Education) and ETT (Elementary Teacher Training) courses. D.El.Ed., JBT, D.Ed., D.T.Ed. and ETT courses have similar syllabus and course structure. These courses also offer similar job opportunities.
B.Ed. and D.EL.Ed both the courses are concerned with education training programs. As the former qualifies the aspirants to become school teachers up to 12th class, D.El.Ed qualifies aspirants to become nursery teachers. TET is mandatory for both the courses in getting teaching jobs in government schools from Class 1 to Class 8. Paper 1 is meant for teachers opting for Class 1 to Class 5 and Paper 2 is for Class 6 to Class 8. It is conducted by both Central and State governments in India.
