Being an IT Student, I realized one thing that it’s not always important to have an interest in all the subjects you are learning because if you are master of one subject then also you can make a career in that field or with that particular subject.
As BCA includes:- C, C++, Java programming and mathematics, DECO, CAAL, Networking, Operating system, Software Engineering, Business Management, Business Economics, Optimization Techniques, and many more. And with only one subject from these all, we can make a bright career.

And yes one more thing being as an IT Student you don’t only to be a part of coding or programming, there are many more things. As like if I talk about Optimization techniques.
Benefits and Scope:- First of all the syllabus of OT consists of LPP, Replacement Problem, Job Sequencing, Queueing, Transportation, Inventory Problem. And these all are the easy topics if one tries to understand it sincerely. We Can say that OT is a combination of Mathematics, Statistics, and Theory. After reading this line you will find a doubt that if it’s a combination then why I can’t choose mathematics and statistics as a career. So the simple answer is that we know the level of Mathematics that in Maths we not only need to solve the question by Giving formulas, however also to make theorems and proofs. And Statistics, it includes mean, median and mode, but the thing in OT is that it only consists of tabular solutions, not mean median & mode.
Scope of OT:- You will get Jobs in Corporate, in agriculture, in finance, in industry, in production management, in personnel management, in marketing, in LIC, etc.
Now comes to the relevance of Optimization Techniques with our future and career and course:-
There is a PG course named Operational Research, In India, only a few colleges have this course in their college or institute. Now the question arises that what is Operational Research, simply; it is a systematic and analytical approach to decision making and problem-solving. … From the standpoint of a program manager, operations research is a tool. And it is such a type of tool that can do a great deal to improve productivity, assist in decision making, and optimize solutions. The Relevance is that the syllabus is as same as Optimization Techniques, however, there are some additional subjects like mathematics, C, C++, Java, Management. After pursuing this course or subject you will get ready for the corporate world.
“To do things right under the given state” is the basic and main objective of this field/subject.
Benefits like:- build a high-level strategy, smoother inventory planning, and management, fair comparison, and enhance daily operations. And the main thing is that to get admission in Operational Research is not that easy it looks like because first, we have to clear entrance. And then the college or institute interview.
